This was the highlight of our visit to Acadia NP (and that is even with needing to call for someone to come put the chain back on my bike). We rented for 4 hours and rode about 20 mikes along the carriage roads. It felt as if we had them mostly to ourselves during a fairly busy Columbus Day Weekend. It was glorious. Can recommend enough.

Best bike ride ever! Bikes were in good shape & the pick up location was perfect- exactly where the carriage trails start. Trails were a bit confusing as some of the trail markers did not reference the same points as the map- did not matter too much as the park is a glorious place to bike whether you know exactly where the trail leads or not.

electric bike is the way to go! We were able to cover the majority of Acadia park. The weather was spectacular and the cycling views of all the fall foliage was so beautiful.

4 of us rented the E bikes for 4 hours and none of us had ridden an ebike before. Ross explained the controls and made sure the bikes and helmets fit properly and off we went. According to my fitbit, we traveled 21 miles! Loved it and didn't want the time to end. Great mountain and lakes (they call them ponds but are huge to me) views and this time of year the leaves were turning and it was so beautiful. Highly recommend. This is a great way to see a lot of the park in a short period of time.

Island Bike Rentals had prompt bike delivery; easy pick up and return; bikes were in good shape. Six of us rode 20 miles of the carriage roads, and had a great day. This was in spite of the interaction with Ross (the owner?) who was seriously lacking in human relation skills. Rental was $$$.

The bikes were dropped off by a guy that gave no consideration to the proper bike size, and one the older members of our group fell because her feet couldn’t touch the ground. My bum sat off the back off my bike seat due to the small size bike I was given. The guy drove off before letting anyone knew could ask questions. Be advised that although you may pay for 8 hour rentals, that l will be reduced without prior notice by a significant amount. The bike battery is weak and will not get you up the series of hills without hard work. ID SKIP THIS ONE. Just an FYI.
