  Even if you have been to Kauai before, I highly recommend this tour. Our host Lexi was exceptional and she made it fun. So much food - all delicious.

  My partner, parents, and I enjoyed the wonderful North Shore tasting yesterday with Susan. My partner is a foodie so I was sure to book this trip for her to be able some enjoy some great food in HI. Susan was a wealth of knowledge with stories on Kauai's history, background information on the places we stopped at as well as some of the people who began the businesses we enjoyed items from. I really enjoyed the kick off with at Kauai's Juice company and the ending at the Farmacy. It was a wonderful way to spend with my family while also meeting others on the tour. Sadly, this was toward the end of our vacation or we would have gladly participated in some other food tours on island.

  This tour was not at all what was expected or desired. It was billed as a "market" tour and promised local farm-to-table restaurants with a history/understanding of the culture and the food. We were taken to a small strip mall and given small tastings of a taco (from a local chain restaurant), a burger (from another chain restaurant), and a half cup of beer from a brewery. When I asked for explanations of what we were eating (expecting some farm to table info and the history of the food), I was told "a taco," "a burger," etc. A colossal waste of money. We think the restaurants belonged to the tour guides friend.

  This was our third Tasting Kauai Food Tour. It was a fun tour and we learned more about restaurants and food on the North Shore. We got to sample several types of food at several locations for lunch. Everything was in walking distance except for the Tea Farm tour. The Tea Farm tour needed to have more context before the tour. At first we really did not have a clue to what we were there for. Only after Susan, the tour guide, provided more background and information the tour made sense.

  The North Shore Food with Susan was a great way to spend an afternoon. We enjoyed the great food and stories of about our purveyors. My daughter and I love food so it was a great activity. We will revisit all the places for more!

  My husband and I had a great time on the Kauai North Shore food tour. We really enjoyed being able to check out a few small businesses in Kilauea and get a taste of some local dishes. My favorite was the taro burger!

  This is a must do activity. Get some history and knowledge about the island from locals while tasting your way through some of the best hidden gems in terms of food. Highly recommend!

  We had a great time with Susan during the South Shore Food Tour. Susan provided great information about the culture and food in Hawaii during our tour. The servings at each tour were generous, nobody was hungry at the end. There was a nice variety of stops and each food stop focused on sustainability and supporting local businesses in Hawaii. We highly recommend this food tour!

  We had a great day with Susan on the North Shore tour! First, she was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and wanted to make the tour personal based on our wants and needs. She gave us history and information on the island and that area in particular. We loved the kombucha (and went back to get some more later). Because the road to Hanalei is still blocked, we had the tour altered some, but it feels like it was for the better because it was incredible! The taro burgers were delicious (and my partner was reticent to try as he dislikes poi, but he loved it). We had the most fantastic poke sushi burrito, Two Girls Sushi. From there, we drove to Farmacy. I could've spent the day there. The staff were so informed and educated. It is a beautiful concept and must-see location. We tried teas, tinctures, salves, and sprays. We left there for the Bistro and had some flavor of the locals (and some cocktails). This was an excellent time to sit with Susan, who gave us advice on locations to try all over the island. She has such a warm spirit and open heart. She made this experience one of the most excellent parts of our vacation!!! Finally, (we were already stuffed full), we went to the Kilauea Bakery and had to (didn't take much convincing) take a to-go box of yummy locally sourced goodies!! It was one of the best things we have done in Hawaii! You won't regret it!

  Took the tour again this year (took it several years ago under previous owner). Glad to say the quality is still there and the new owners are focusing more on the smaller, local chefs and providers and not so much the big resorts. Great way to find good places to eat North, South, East and West Kauai! Come hungry - the samples are great. I also recommend you take the tour early in your visit to the island - then you'll know all sorts of great places to eat during your stay! Went during the tail end of the Covid shutdown, but you're in your own car, and wearing masks and socially distancing as required locally, and it's mostly outside, so felt quite safe.
